Jamieson Bay is the perfect place for your next holiday or short break. So close to Auckland yet you feel so far away. The minute you turn off the main highway and wind up the small country road feel the stress melt away and enjoy the amazing views as you approach the tranquility of the bay.
The bach, recently renovated by its interior designer owner is stylish and well appointed with quality new furniture and beds but still retains that bachy relaxed holiday feeling. Lounge on the deck or under a tree in the beanbags and watch the kids swimming in the safe, sheltered waters. Enjoy the evenings gazing at the view, soaking in the spa and listening to the Tui, Kereru and Fantails playing in the pohutakawas. In winter snuggle up by the pot belly fire.
There is a kayak if you feel like a bit of action on the water, and a tree swing on the beach for the kids.
Or, bring your own boat. There’s plenty of parking and a boat ramp 100m from the front lawn, and its generally calm enough to anchor in the bay. The sheltered waters are also great for water skiing and biscuiting and the fishing is fabulous too. There are many places to visit in a boat including going up the river to the historic town of Warkworth, or out to the islands of Motuora or Kawau.
At low tide you can walk around the coast to numerous beautiful bays including Sullivans Bay regional park or if your feeling more energetic you can walk over the hill via the road. You can also drive to Sullivans Bay (3 min) and do the walking trails that meander through the farmland to secluded bays.
There are many fabulous places to visit nearby including Puhoi, Matakana, Omaha, Snells Beach where you will find markets, historic villages, vineyards, pubs, cafes, shops, and movie theaters.
There are two televisions, a DVD player and plenty of board games and cards if the weather is unkind.
