Lou Mitan Gite:
The gite sits in the parkland grounds of an old stone farmhouse, perched above the Vezere river, and is ideally located for exploring the Dordogne and Vezere valleys.
Interior:
The gite can comfortably accommodate 6 people, however under this arrangement only the ground floor suite is available. This includes a light, open plan kitchen, dining and living area (including a wood burner for the winter months) which opens onto the private garden terrace and one double bedroom, also with doors onto the terrace. Immediately adjacent to the bedroom is a separate toilet and shower room. The two upstairs bedrooms are not available for use when booked with this reduced rate option
Outside:
Immediately outside the gite is a small private garden and BBQ area. This comes complete with a table, chairs and sun umbrella for alfresco dining as well as a couple of sunbeds.
In addition to the small private garden, all guests staying in Lou Mitan have full access to the house gardens including a private heated swimming pool (June to September) which is gated and secure. The property also offers a good range of games including table tennis, badminton, and boules. For younger children there is also a garden slide and some swings.
Surrounding Area:
There is so much to do here it is difficult to know where to start. The walking here is wonderful, and even on the hottest days the woodland walks provide plenty of shade. There is a beautiful riverside walk to the nearby village of St Leon sur Vezere, which takes about 40 minutes. In St Leon are some lovely riverside cafes and bars, along with a small number of arts and craft shops. It is a popular destination for the many canoeists making their way down the Vezere river. We would also recommend a visit to the world famous Lascaux caves, which are only ten minutes away in Montignac. They are suitable for visitors of all ages. A visit here gives you an appreciation of just how far the human race has come over the last 20,000 years. If none of this is for you, you can always relax by the pool with a book.
