Mahurangi West is a hidden gem, nestled between Puhoi and Warkworth just off the main stretch of SH1, a rural enclave that offers stunning scenery, peace and tranquility – with civilization still close at hand. Nearby supermarkets, historic Puhoi village and its famous Puhoi Pub and some great walks and beaches. Matakana is a 20 minute drive, Omaha Beach 20 mins, Orewa /Waiwera 15 mins and Auckland City 45 minutes.
Mahurangi Manor is a four bedroomed character homestead, recently renovated, with all the charm of yesteryear, yet (yay!) modern home comfort and convenience. Upstairs is the spacious master suite and bathroom with walk-in shower and Super King bed. Incredible rural panoramic views and all day sun.
Downstairs are 3 bedrooms, one with a Queen bed and two with standard double beds. These 3 bedrooms share a bathroom with bath/shower.
Electric blankets, bed linen, towels and bathrobes of course provided.
Laundry facilities include washing machine, dryer, ironing board and iron. Amazing country style kitchen - electric double oven with gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and generous sized fridge-freezer. Coffee machine, electric jug and toaster are provided, as well as everything necessary for the well-equipped kitchen.
The open-plan living room with wood-burning fireplace, sun porch, dining and kitchen areas are spacious and welcoming. The dining table seats 8 comfortably, the kitchen counter seats 4.
There is a 32 inch TV with all basic Sky digital and a blu-ray player with a variety of CDs DVDs and blu-rays, jigsaw puzzles, Wifi, broadband internet and cellphone reception. Even a turntable and collection of 60’s-70’s LP’s. Office area has a library full of books you can browse through.
3 large decks so you can follow the sun around, then fire up the barbecue to watch the amazing sunsets.
The house is built on the flat top of a hill, with easy access, circular driveway and plenty of flat land. Depending on time of year, there could be grazing cattle or other livestock on the 14 acres of pasture and bush.
Interaction with guests
Mahurangi Manor is the main house. Close by is a 2-storey dwelling where other family members live. It is a completely separate dwelling, mostly out of view from the Manor to ensure your privacy. But if you need anything, we are close by and ready to help. (I normally live in the main house when it is not rented out, so the house does contain personal memorabilia, plants, the things that make a house a home).
I will usually be available by phone to help you with local information and any needs. Guests receive a key so that they can come and go as they please for the duration of their stay. If you have any special requirements, just ask.
