La Rivière
La Rivière is a traditional 16th C Lotois barn, converted into a lovely holiday home with its own large infinity swimming pool, that sleeps up to 8 people. It is situated on the outskirts of a small, charming village just a 7 minutes drive from Gourdon, which is very peaceful and delightful for an evening stroll after a barbecue in the beautiful garden. The town of Gourdon offers lovely restaurants, shops and supermarkets.
Interior
Although the barn sleeps 8, it is also very cosy for 2 people as there is a downstairs double bedroom & full bathroom with roll top bath. Upstairs offers 1 double bedroom with en-suite and 2 further twin bedrooms & another shower room. Both levels are accessible from the garden.
Outside
The swimming pool is situated in the lovely garden, the only thing you’ll hear are the crickets and the odd birds, here you will find the rest and peace so much needed during your holidays!
The surroundings
Gourdon is located in the north west of the Lot department and in the Midi Pyrenees region in the centre west of France. It is the historical capital of the Bouriane, a sandy area close to the Quercy. It is surrounded with touristy sites amongst which Sarlat and Les Eyzies in the north, Rocamadour in the east and Cahors in the south. Built on a 286m rocky hillock, it offers an amazing view on the Bouriane and Perigord valleys.
Activities
Gourdon offers numerous hobbies to holidaymakers. Gourdon has several sports facilities for rugby, football, athletics and horse riding. You can also practise tennis, hiking, canoe, cycling, mountain biking, potholing or petanque. Another famous and attractive hobby is fishing. You can choose between two ponds. The plan d’eau d’Ecoute s’Il Pleut offers 3.3ha and numerous fishes: pike, zander, carp, roach and tench. The plan d’eau de Laumel, with its 1.5ha, allow to fish rainbow trout, pike, tench and carp.
