The Kapiti area has a relatively sunny sheltered climate, protected by the hills on Kapiti Island to the west and the Tararua ranges to the east. Raumati beach is a friendly lovely seaside village community, where people still say hi in the street, We are blessed with lovely cafes, and restaurants with seaside views, three bars/pubs with outdoor areas and offering live music on Sundays. Designer shops and four square grocery store. Popular Bakery and now a French Patisserie. Dentist, Doctor, Massage, Chinese Acupuncture and Interior Design stores. Raumati Beach has a fantastic playground with splashpad, slides, swings and rose gardens for picnics, with miniature railway operating on Sundays for the whole family to enjoy. On Saturday morning ten minutes drive to Paraparaumu Beach offers a busy bustling market for fresh vegetables, fruit, local crab, fish, pastries, jams, preserves, delicious home cooked food. Gluten free and Paleo options. Ten minutes drive to Coastlands shopping mall at Paraparaumu, Home of the famous Kapiti Cheese, and Kapiti Ice cream. Nyco Chocolate factory. Only 40 to 45 minutes drive to Wellington city and to catch the ferry to cross to the South Island. Raumati Beach is also part of the Te Araroa New Zealand's walkway - 3,000kms of continuous walking track from Cape Reinga to Bluff. Ten minutes drive to the famous Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club, and the Kapiti Golf Club. Plenty of mountain biking and walking tracks, surfing at both Waikanae and Pukerua Bay local beaches. Train connections to Wellington. Few minutes drive off State Highway 1, Raumati Beach is a little gem.
