This open-concept restoration of a 100 year old Saltbox turns your life toward light, water and a way of life to which you will want to return again and again. A dock awaits your own boat which can whisk you to an island for a picnic or to Boothbay for shopping. A yard leading to the water beckons you (and your dog?) to play. A pass to Reid State Park (included) on nearby Georgetown Island will find you basking on a sunny beach or walking trails.
Hop in the car and you are shopping in Old Port, Freeport or Camden--or hiking the Camden Hills. On a rainy day check out the Wyeths in Rockland or the Maritime Museum in Bath. Restaurants abound: lobster on the dock at Five Islands, steamers on the deck of the Kennebec Tavern, jazz on Friday nights at Solo Bistro on Front Street, gourmet meals at the Old Meeting House on Georgetown Island.
This home proclaims Maine: its artists decorate the walls, its potters' lamps light every room, its furniture makers invite you to rock with a book in hand or sunbathe on the deck or sleep in the peace of Maine's cool nights (with the free standing gas stove to add warmth and charm).
