Below the cabin is an idyllic open space with benches, a gap hut and a small playground. There's also a small pond here, so watch out for the kids. Nevertheless, you can also play nicely there and get closer to nature.
The area in the east of Hedmark is also known as Finnskogen, an area that lies on the Swedish and Norwegian side of the border from Eidskog in the south of Hedmark to Trysil in the north. The area offers many hiking opportunities, either on skis, by bike or on foot. The cottage owner also has a kayak and SUP board that can be used on the lake. If you want alpine slopes, you have to go to the Swedish side of the border at Torsby. In Torsby you will find a ski tunnel for cross-country skiing all year round.
The nearest town is Kongsvinger with all it has to offer in shopping, restaurant life and culture. Here you can visit for example the Kongsvinger fortress.
